TSL Statement

Tasmanian State League (TSL) Management has confirmed that today’s TSL Development League round six match between Clarence and Glenorchy (scheduled for 11:30am at Blundstone Arena) has been forfeited by Glenorchy District Football Club.
Glenorchy informed TSL Management on Friday afternoon that they would be forfeiting this weekend’s Development League match due to player availability – including injury, COVID-19 and other factors.
As a result of this forfeit, the Clarence Football Club will be awarded four premiership points and the average weekly percentage of winning teams from round six of the TSL Development League.
TSL Management will continue to work closely with the Glenorchy District Football Club in the coming weeks to support the club’s current circumstances.
As per the TSL Rules and Regulations, AFL Tasmania will consider penalties for the club.
AFL Tasmania Regional Manager – South & TSL Andy Bennett says, “We are disappointed about this situation, we clearly don’t want teams forfeiting in our competition.
“This is not at the standard of a premier competition, and it is important for the competition and the club that it is urgently addressed.
“We know how important the Glenorchy Football Club is to football in our state and we will continue to support the club and work with the club’s leadership on addressing the short-term concerns, whilst working on strengthening the club for the long term.”
