Big-name Blues return for Tiger tussle
Round two of the 2022 TSL season will be headlined by a huge clash between the undefeated Kingborough Tigers and Launceston Blues.
Kingborough will be hoping star midfielder Will Campbell is fit to return following COVID protocols, while Launceston welcome back a star quartet in captain Jobi Harper, former Geelong Cat and Sydney Swan Jackson Thurlow, 2021 Baldock Medalist Joe Groenewegen and duel premiership player Jake Smith.
North Launceston will be without experienced duo Jack Avent and Nathan Pearce for its clash with Clarence, with Andy Potter and Cobey Evans coming into the 22. The ‘Roos will welcome the return of Keegan Wylie, with Blake Jones making way.
There are changes aplenty at North Hobart, with Jack Sandric, Sam Banks-Smith, Jack McCulloch, Angus Norton, Fin Poke and Nathaniel Sulzberger all out of the Demons’ side that played Launceston in round one.
Myrtleford recruit Lachlan Murphy-Dale, Sam Caswell (playing his 100th game), Bradley Young and Matthew Campbell headline the inclusions for the meeting with the Magpies, with Glenorchy welcoming Will Atkin and Josh Whitford back into the senior side.
