There is fresh incentive for Tasmania’s premier men’s footballers to shine in 2021, with the Tasmanian State League’s best player to win serious dough with thanks to Cripps.

Cripps the Master Baker has become the major partner of the 2021 TSL Player of the Year award, continuing their tremendous support of the state’s premier men’s football competition as the partner for the award acknowledging the league’s outstanding player and the match day ball partner.

The Cripps Player of the Year Award is a prestigious honour that has been won by some of the finest footballers to rise through the TSL.

The votes are determined by Tasmania’s media, who vote 3, 2 and 1 on every TSL game to ultimately decide the Cripps Player of the Year.

The lucky winner will take home a Cripps Appliance Pack which includes a toaster, sandwich press and pizza oven, as well as $1000.

The Player of the Year is also supported by 7 Tasmania, who will reveal the votes during their Monday night news bulletins.

Head of AFL Tasmania, Damian Gill thanked Cripps for their ongoing commitment to the game.

“Cripps are a phenomenal supporter of Tasmanian football, they do a lot in the Tasmanian community and we are grateful for their support.

“There are many sought-after accolades in the TSL but the Cripps Player of the Year honour is right up there. With the prize pack and prize money on the line, players will have their eyes glued to the weekly votes,” Gill said.

Cripps CEO, Paul Gadomski thanked AFL Tasmania for providing the opportunity to support the TSL Player of the Year award.

When asked what the appeal of the award was, Mr Gadomski said: “Cripps are the Master Bakers here in Tasmania, the award aligns well with Cripps and we are very happy to support the Cripps TSL Player of the Year.

“Our alignment with AFL Tasmania and specifically the Tasmanian State League speaks volumes for the quality of football that is played in the competition and the skill of the players that commit so much time to play football here in Tasmania at the top level, which needs to be celebrated.

“What better way to celebrate than with a slice of Tasmania’s daily bread, Cripps toasts, the TSL and the Cripps TSL Player of the Year.”

Cripps is a great supporter of Tasmanian football. The iconic brand backs boys and girls footy in the Southern Tasmanian Junior Football League and is also a sponsor of the Northern Tasmanian Football Umpires Association.

The 2021 TSL season commences on Good Friday, 2 April, with two big clashes. The full TSL fixture is here.
