Cripps TSLW fixture revealed

The state’s senior female football stars will return to the field in just fifteen days’ time.

The Cripps Tasmanian State League Women’s (TSLW) season will start on July 18 with a blockbuster start between cross-town rivals, Launceston and North Launceston.

The Cripps TSLW showcases the state’s very best talent, including players of AFLW quality and experience.

The competition’s home and away season will run from July 18 until October 3, culminating with a two-week finals’ series, with a Grand Final on Sunday October 18, 2020.

AFL Tasmania CEO, Trisha Squires said she was looking forward to seeing the state’s very best return to the field.

“It is fantastic to reveal the fixture for the Cripps TSLW season, it has been a long time coming and I know anticipation is building for players, coaches and fans for it to start.

“We had an amazing finish to last year’s Cripps TSLW season and here is hoping we are in for another action-packed season,” Squires said.

More games than ever before will feature on Saturdays as part of TSL club matchdays and for 2020, Clarence will be hosting their home games out of Richmond Oval.

The competition includes five teams in 2020, with Lauderdale opting not to participate this season due to challenges with player numbers following the COVID-19 hiatus.

The club is confident in the future of their women’s program and in fielding a team in 2021, with strong numbers in their Under 17 girls’ team.
