Bupa TSL set for July 11 first bounce

The wait will soon be over for Bupa TSL fans, with the season to commence in just 15 days’ time.

The fixture for 2020 has been officially released and the Bupa TSL season will start on Saturday July 11, 2020. All seven Bupa TSL clubs will play each other twice in a home and away season, prior to a two-week finals’ series – culminating in the Grand Final on Sunday October 18, 2020.

The fixture includes three Wednesday night games, with byes built in either side of the matches for the benefit of player welfare for both participating teams.

The Cripps Development League fixture has also been released and mirrors the Bupa TSL. The Cripps TSL Women’s (TSLW) competition will start from Saturday 18 July, 2020 with a full fixture to be released next week.

The Bupa TSL season kicks off in style with Glenorchy hosting Launceston at KGV, the reigning premier North Launceston starting their defence against North Hobart and eastern shore rivals, Lauderdale and Clarence, facing off.

Round 2 continues the blockbusters, with a clash between Launceston and North Launceston and the modern rivalry of North Hobart and the Kingborough Tigers.

With Blundstone Arena out of action, Clarence will be hosting games from Richmond War Memorial Oval this season, with their first home game in Round 3 against the old enemy, Glenorchy.

AFL Tasmania CEO, Trisha Squires was excited to unveil the fixture.

“It is great to have the fixture locked in for the 2020 Bupa TSL season. It has taken a lot of hard work from many people to bring the season to life and I think the first bounce in two weeks’ time is going to be momentous.

“The fixture looks a little different with Wednesday night games and a new venue and I think we are in for an exciting season ahead.”
