Schedule confirmed for Grand Final Day

TSL management has confirmed the schedule for Bupa TSL Grand Final day, with anticipation building for the biggest day on the Tasmanian football calendar. 

Lauderdale emerged with a stirring seven-point win over Launceston on Sunday to book a third-straight Bupa TSL Grand Final appearance and lock in a third consecutive ‘Battle of the Bombers’ for premiership glory.

Lauderdale and Launceston exchanged blows in one of the season’s most entertaining contests at Blundstone Arena, with the Bombers coming back from a 21-point deficit midway through the third quarter to book the club’s third TSL Grand Final appearance.

The Southern Bombers will take on North Launceston at 3:00pm next Saturday, with the Northern Bombers gunning for their fifth premiership in six years, and third on the trot.

Clarence will lock horns with Launceston at 12:30pm in the Wrest Point TSLW decider, after the ‘Roos stunned reigning premier Glenorchy in Saturday’s Preliminary Final.

The ‘Roos, who fell agonisingly short of premiership glory in last season’s decider, will have another shot next weekend against the all-conquering Blues, who are yet to lose a game in 2019.

Clarence is the team that has pushed Launceston the closest, however, with the Blues winning by just 13 points in an arm wrestle between the two teams back in round eight.

Grand Final day action will kick off with the TSL Development League decider between the Tigers and North Launceston at 9:40am.

Fans should anticipate a close contest after the Tigers emerged with a thrilling extra time win when the two sides met in the 2nd Semi Final a fortnight ago at KGV.

That win booked the Tigers a direct ticket into the big dance, while the Northern Bombers comfortably accounted for Lauderdale by 47 points in Saturday’s Preliminary Final to book a second straight Grand Final appearance.
