2. Jonty Barwick (North Hobart) was referred for making contact to an umpire
The Match Review Panel determined player Barwick be charged with making careless contact with an umpire. This is a low-level offence. Player Barwick has been offered a base sanction of one match, reduced to a low-level reprimand with an early guilty plea.
Player Barwick has accepted a low-level reprimand.
Development League
3. Joel Millhouse (Glenorchy) & Lachlan Cocker (North Launceston) were referred for wrestling each other
No further action is required
4. Connor Salter (Glenorchy) was reported for head-butting or making contact with the head against Jack Lanham (North Launceston)
The Match Review Panel determined the head-butt to be intentional, with low impact and high contact. Player Salter has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to a one match suspension with an early guilty plea.
Player Salter has accepted a one-match suspension.
5. Glenorchy & North Launceston players were referred for engaging in a melee
The Match Review Panel determined the following charges be laid.
Jake Smith (North Launceston) has been charged with low-level striking four times.
Player Smith has been offered a base sanction of one match, reduced to a low-level reprimand for each of the first two strikes.
Third and subsequent low-level offences attract a base sanction of two matches, reduced to a one match suspension with an early guilty plea.
Therefore Player Smith has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to a one match suspension for each of the last two strikes.
In total, player Smith can accept two low-level reprimands as well as a two match suspension with an early guilty plea.
Player Smith has rejected the offer and the matter will be heard by the Independent Tribunal tonight.
William Haley (North Launceston) has been charged with attempting to strike.
Player Haley has been offered a base sanction of one match, reduced to a low-level reprimand with an early guilty plea.
