#BUPATSL MRP Results – Round 8

Launceston has been dealt a big blow for its round nine meeting with Glenorchy, with coach Mitch Thorp accepting a one-match suspension for making high contact to Lauderdale captain Bryce Walsh. 

The Blues have opted to challenge the suspension handed to Casey Brown, with the Independent Tribunal to sit tonight.

Bupa TSL – Round 8

1.      Ethan Conway (Launceston) was referred for a potential tunnelling incident on Ben McGuinness (Lauderdale)

The Match Review Panel determined that player Conway slipping was the cause of the incident. No further action is required.

2.      Casey Brown (Launceston) was referred for rough conduct against Ryan Wiggins (Lauderdale)

The Match Review Panel determined that the bump was intentional, with low impact to the head. Player Brown has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Brown has rejected the offer. This matter will now be heard by the Independent Tribunal at 6:00pm tonight (Tuesday 21 May 2019).

3.      Both Launceston & Lauderdale were referred for engaging in a melee

No further action is required.

 

4.      Mitch Thorp (Launceston) was referred for making high contact against Bryce Walsh (Lauderdale)

The Match Review Panel determined that the contact was intentional, with low impact and to the head. Player Thorp has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Thorp has accepted a one-match suspension.

5.      Kieran Lovell (Tigers) was referred for making contact with an umpire

The Match Review Panel determined that Player Lovell made careless contact with an umpire. Player Lovell has been offered a base sanction of one match, reduced to a low-level reprimand with an early guilty plea.

6.      Jayden Appleby (North Hobart) was reported for striking Riley Oakley (Glenorchy)

The Match Review Panel determined the strike to be intentional, with low impact and high contact. Player Appleby has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Appleby has accepted a one-match suspension.

 

7.      Jayden Appleby (North Hobart) was reported for kicking Clinton French (Glenorchy)

The Match Review Panel determined the kick was intentional, with low impact to the head. Player Appleby has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Appleby has accepted a one-match suspension.

Player Appleby is suspended for two matches as a result of these two incidents.
