AFL Tasmania partners with White Ribbon

AFL Tasmania is delighted to announce a partnership with White Ribbon, becoming the Bupa Tasmanian State League’s (TSL) official Grand Final charity partner.

AFL Tasmania has a community focus with a strong emphasis on influencing attitudes and behaviour with respect to domestic violence. This partnership will see the two organisations work closely together to spread messages throughout the Tasmanian community using football as a vehicle for change. White Ribbon will be meaningfully represented at the upcoming Bupa TSL Grand Final, as well as other collaboration between the two organisations.

White Ribbon’s vision is a nation that respects women, in which every woman lives in safety, free from all forms of men’s abuse. Their purpose is to engage men to make women’s safety a man’s issue too.

“Sport provides the perfect environment to raise awareness of the importance of women’s safety and respectful relationships. White Ribbon are excited to be collaborating with AFL Tasmania to integrate our joint efforts across the community to educate and build awareness of this important social issue.” said White Ribbon’s CEO, Tracy McLeod Howe.

AFL Tasmania is proud to be partnered with White Ribbon, a reputable organisation and brand that promotes an important message for change.

“We are delighted to have a strong relationship with White Ribbon to help where we can to influence attitudes in the community,” AFL Tasmania CEO Trisha Squires said.

“We know that football plays such an important role in the Tasmanian community and we are determined to play a role in White Ribbon’s mission to end violence against women.”
