Bupa TSL Round 21 Midfielder of the Week

The final round of the Bupa Tasmanian State League season has come and gone, with the make-up of the final five finally known.

After an exciting finish to the home and away season, we want to know who you considered to be the standout performers of the round.

We now look at the engine room, where two midfield stars were at their prolific best.

Brady Jones (Clarence)

As one of the leaders of this Clarence outfit, Brady Jones was the forefront of everything on Saturday afternoon, helping the ‘Roos get on top around the ground and eventually grind out a 22-point win.

One of the competition’s most consistent performers, Jones found plenty of the football and kicked a goal in a display that will bring him and his teammates plenty of confidence heading into finals action.

With a number of key teammates out injured, Jones looms as one of the players that will have the biggest say on Clarence’s September aspirations.

Chayce Jones (Launceston)

Draft prospect and emerging star Chayce Jones continued his hot streak of form with another best on ground display for the Blues.

Jones found plenty of the football and used it well to provide silver service to the Launceston forward line, while also using his sublime skills to kick a goal of the year contender.

Described by coach Sam Lonergan and teammate Mitch Thorp as a ‘special’ player, Chayce Jones could be an X-Factor for the Blues heading into this year’s finals series.
