Bupa TSL Round 18 Midfielder of the Week

With round 18 of the Bupa Tasmanian State League season now behind us, we take a look at who were the standout performers from the weekend’s action.

We now look at the midfielders, where two of the competition’s big guns played critical roles in round 18 victories.

Rhys Mott (Glenorchy)

The beneficiary of some silver service from Magpies ruckman Cameron Duffy, Rhys Mott was at his damaging best for the hosts at KGV Oval on Saturday.

Dominant around stoppages, Mott’s cleanliness with ball in hand was on display throughout the afternoon, carving up the Demons with his precise kicking and wise decision making.

Hitting the scoreboard with a goal in the big win, Mott looks to be finding some of his best form at the right time of the year.

Phil Bellchambers (Lauderdale)

The general of this Lauderdale midfield had another strong game against the Tigers, combining brilliantly with ruckman Haydn Smith to generate attacking forays out of the middle.

Bellchambers’ explosiveness from the stoppage was at the forefront in the narrow win, with his efforts crucial in getting the southern Bombers into a strong position early in the game, and again when the going got tough late.

An out and out star that will play a key role on the path to September.
