With round 18 of the Bupa Tasmanian State League season now behind us, we take a look at who were the standout performers from the weekend’s action.
We now look to the forwards, where a North Launceston star kicked a bag in an important win and an underrated Tigers pocketed an impressive haul in a heartbreaking loss.
Tom Bennett (North Launceston)
Premiership hero Tom Bennett proved to be a handful for the ‘Roos on Saturday afternoon, kicking five goals in a dominant forward performance.
Having also dished several other goals away, Bennett was an ever-present threat inside 50, with his five goals taking him to equal second in the race for the Peter Hudson Medal.
Bennett was influential in the air, with some silver service from his teammates further afield. Bennett and fellow forward Bart McCulloch looms as one of the most exciting duos to watch moving into the finals.

Luke Graham (Tigers FC)
Luke Graham delivered one of the performances of the round with a stunning six-goal haul against the Bombers on Saturday afternoon.
Kicking three of his six goals in a barnstorming final term, Graham helped the Tigers close a six-goal gap at three-quarter time to a tied ball game with less than a minute remaining.
Graham was sensational in the final term, kicking a remarkable goal that sealed the game from the pocket. An excitement machine, the Tigers’ leading goal kicker is a key figure in this side.
