Round 17 votes are in for the RACT Insurance Player of the Year award, with a star Blue rocketing up the leaderboard and an instrumental Magpie extending his lead.
Launceston utility Rulla Kelly-Mansell has looked comfortable across half back in recent weeks, earning best afield honours for a second straight week after a starring effort against the southern Bombers.
Mariners skipper Chayce Jones also picked up votes in his second game back, while Jake Hinds rounded out the voting after a strong effort inside forward 50.
Clarence captain Brady Jones was at the bottom of every pack on Saturday to earn the three votes against the Demons, while star teammate Jake Cox kept himself within striking distance of the top two with another strong showing. Young Demon talent Callum Kilpatrick was also recognised, earning his first vote for the season.
North Launceston skipper Brad Cox-Goodyer was enormous for the Bombers, kicking six goals to earn the three votes, despite finishing the game off the field with injury. Mark Walsh was at his impressive best for the visitors at KGV, earning two votes, while star Magpie defender Daniel Joseph moved another vote clear on top of the leaderboard by rounding out the voting.
