RACT Insurance Player of the Year Votes – Round 16

Round 16 votes are in for the RACT Insurance Player of the Year award, with the leaderboard remaining incredibly tight.

Ben McGuinness’ seven-goal haul against the Magpies saw him earn three votes from the match at Lauderdale Oval, while older brother Josh’s defensive effort on Jaye Bowden was enough for him to take two votes. Rhys Sutton rounded out the voting with another strong performance to continue his impressive campaign.

Josh Ponting rocketed up the leaderboard with three votes in the Northern Bombers’ win over the Tigers, while skipper Brad Cox-Goodyer and Jordan Cousens also impressed to earn two votes and one vote respectively.

Launceston live-wire Rulla Kelly-Mansell’s move to half back has paid dividends for the Blues, with his run and carry out of the back half earning him maximum votes from Sunday’s defeat of North Hobart. Midfield gun Brodie Palfreyman picked up two votes for another strong showing, while Mariners captain and under-18 All Australian Chayce Jones shone in his first senior game of the season to round out the voting.
