RACT Insurance Player of the Year Votes – Round 14
Round 14 RACT Insurance Player of the Year votes have landed, with two of the competition’s young guns and a premiership skipper receiving top marks.
Glenorchy defender Harrison Gunther led the way for the Magpies against the Blues to receive his first batch of three votes for the year, while fellow defenders Daniel Joseph and Josh Grant were also resolute in their efforts to round out the votes.
2017 premiership skipper and current coach Taylor Whitford was exceptional once again for the Northern Bombers, controlling the midfield and kicking two goals to help steer the ladder leaders to victory in the battle of the Bombers. Devonport recruit Beau Sharman was also highly impressive through the midfield in the win to earn two votes and Lauderdale leader Phil Bellchambers continued his fine campaign, earning one vote.
Clarence young gun James Brenner stood tall for the ‘Roos against the Tigers, finding plenty of the football and applying immense pressure in the middle. Duel William Leitch medalist Troy Cunliffe was again a leading figure, earning two votes, while Tiger star Mitch Carter was a focal point up forward and justifiably picked up a vote.

Taylor Whitford’s best on ground display in the grand final replay has seen him move into outright second on the leaderboard, but a further two votes to Daniel Joseph has seen him move further ahead of the chasing pack. Troy Cunliffe and Phil Bellchambers have also kept the pressure on the top four with vote-worthy performances once again.
