Bupa TSL Round 13 Midfielder of the Week

Now that round 13 has been run and won, we want to know who you considered to be the most impressive performers across the weekend’s Bupa Tasmanian State League action.

We now turn our attention to the midfield, where a Tigers’ bull and a classy Bomber delivered eye-catching performances.

Will Campbell (Tigers)

In the absence of fellow leaders Ryan Matthews and Marcus Davies, Tiger’ bull Will Campbell took it upon himself to steer his side to an unlikely win over the Blues at the Twin Ovals.

Campbell was dominant around stoppages, using his grunt and size to clear the ball from congestion.

Up against one of the deepest midfields in the competition (albeit without Jay Blackberry), Campbell’s performance was irresistible  as he helped lay the platform for one of the upsets of the season to date.

After a breakout season in 2017, Campbell is going from strength to strength in 2018.

Robbie McManus (Lauderdale)

A running machine in the red and black, Robbie McManus was superb in a best on ground performance against the Demons.

McManus found plenty of the football throughout the afternoon, using his strength and agility to find space and pepper the ball inside forward 50.

Using the ball well, McManus’ cleanliness with ball in hand was impressive on a day where wind caused havoc.

A key figure in Lauderdale’s successful surge last season, Bomber fans will enjoy seeing McManus in full flight as the business end of the campaign fast approaches.
