With the dust starting to settle on a bumper round 12 of the Bupa Tasmanian State League season, we now cast our eyes over the standout defenders, midfielders and forwards of the round.
A Glenorchy veteran and a Lauderdale swingman both kicked bags of goals to be the nominees for this week.
Jaye Bowden (Glenorchy)
One of the finest Tasmanian footballers of the modern era, Glenorchy stalwart Jaye Bowden delivered a vintage performance against the Demons, booting eight goals in a best on ground display.
Seemingly unstoppable at times, Bowden took strong contested marks, roved and kicked goals on the run in a performance that took the game away from a young North Hobart side.
His second best on ground performance of the season will have Magpie fans licking their lips at what he might be able to produce across the back end of the 2018 season.
Alex Hill (Lauderdale)
Dangerous Lauderdale swingman Alex Hill went forward with devastating effect on Saturday, booting five goals in the wet.
On a day not suited to the big men, Hill acclimatised perfectly, kicking a bag while standing tall.
Emerging as a key target for the Bombers, Hill proved to be the difference in a hard-fought 24-point win.
