Bupa TSL Round 10 Forward of the Week

With round 10 of the Bupa Tasmanian State League season done and dusted, we want to know who you considered to be the premier defenders, midfielders and forwards of the round.

We now take a look at the forwards, with an underrated Roo and a premiership star the contenders.

IC: Andrew Woodgate

Zach Burt (North Launceston)

A genuine star of the competition, Burt broke the game open against Glenorchy on Saturday, booting three goals in the second term and another in the fourth to give the Bombers control over the contest.

Burt played as a key target inside 50, leading brilliantly to become a genuine lead-up target for the reigning premiers.

In a game where both sides struggled to find targets inside 50 at times, Burt was undoubtedly one of the most influential players on the field as he moved to third on the competition’s goal-kicking leaderboard.

Alex Silver (Clarence)

A crucial part in this mobile Clarence forward line, Alex Silver delivered his best performance of the season to date with five majors against the Demons.

With the ability to mark well above his head and compete at ground level, Silver is a difficult match up for opposition sides.

A late inclusion against Glenorchy earlier in the season, Silver is fast becoming an integral part of this side as the Roos, particularly as the men in red and white begin to generate some big scores.
