TSL MRP Round 9
The TSL Match Review Panel (MRP) sat and assessed eight incidents from the TSL and one from both the Mercury Cup and TSLW.
Bupa Tasmanian State League
1. Lauderdale & Glenorchy players were referred for engaging in a melee
Both clubs will be fined in line with TSL Rules & Regulations
2. Josh Grant (Glenorchy) was reported for threatening an umpire
This matter has been referred directly to the Independent Tribunal.
The hearing will be at 6pm on Tuesday, 29th May.
3. North Launceston & Tigers players were referred for engaging in a melee
The Match Review Panel determined that no further action will be taken.
4. Sonny Whiting (Launceston) was reported for attempting to strike Hugh Williams (North Hobart)
This report has been withdrawn by the TSL Umpiring Department. No further action will be taken.
5. Sonny Whiting (Launceston) was referred for rough conduct against Trent Millhouse (North Hobart)
The Match Review Panel determined that the action did not constitute a reportable offence, and that the free kick paid on the day was the correct outcome. No further action will be taken.
6. Nathan McCulloch (North Hobart) was referred for making careless contact with an umpire
Player McCulloch has been offered a low-level reprimand.
Player McCulloch has accepted a low-level reprimand.
7. Jake Hinds (Launceston) was referred for making high contact against Brad Tilbury (North Hobart)
The Match Review Panel determined that the free kick paid was the correct outcome, and no further action will be taken.
8. Jobi Harper (Launceston) was referred for rough conduct against Will Peppin (North Hobart)
The Match Review Panel determined that the action did not constitute a reportable offence, and that the match day free kick that was paid was the correct outcome. No further action will be taken.
Mercury Cup
1. Tim Daff (Lauderdale) was referred for striking John Geard (Glenorchy)
The Match Review Panel determined the strike was intentional, with medium impact to the head. Due to Player Daff’s poor record, he will have an additional match added to his base sanction.
Player Daff has been offered a base sanction of four matches, reduced to three matches with an early guilty plea.
Lauderdale withdrew the challenge and has accepted a three-match suspension.
Wrest Point TSLW
1. Nietta Lynch (Glenorchy) was referred for rough conduct against Kristy Baker (Tigers)
The Match Review Panel determined that the action did not constitute a reportable offence. No further action will be taken.
