RACT Insurance Player of the Year Votes – Round 8
Round eight RACT Insurance Player of the Year votes have landed, with three players rocketing up the leaderboard.
The big guns fired for the Northern Bombers in a comprehensive win over Launceston at Windsor Park. Premiership coach Tom Couch continued his impressive return to the state with a best on ground five-goal haul. Couch’s successor, Taylor Whitford, maintained his strong form with a dominant midfield performance, while reigning Alastair Lynch and Baldock Medalist Brad Cox-Goodyer booted four goals on his way to his first Player of the Year vote for the season.
Jake Cox starred for the Roos in a hard-fought win over Lauderdale, booting three second half goals, while consistent defender James Holmes delivered another typically industrious and brave display. Ryan Wiggins was a shining light for the Bombers, performing well at both ends of the ground throughout the day.
North Hobart skipper Hugh Williams made his presence felt in his first game back from a nasty injury in round four, performing well up forward early and in his usual defensive general role as the day wore on. Trent Millhouse was influential in the Demons’ first win for the year, while Tiger star Mitch Carter was the hosts best on an otherwise disappointing day.
