TSL MRP Round 8

The TSL Match Review Panel (MRP) sat and assessed four TSL incidents and one incident each from the Mercury Cup and TSLW. 

 

Bupa Tasmanian State League

1.      Lauderdale & Clarence players were referred for engaging in a melee

The Match Review Panel determined that there will be no further action taken.

2.      Ryan Wiggins (Lauderdale) was referred for making contact with the head of Jackson O’Brien (Clarence)

The Match Review Panel determined that there was insufficient force to constitute a reportable offence, and no further action will be taken.

3.      Phillip Bellchambers (Lauderdale) was referred for striking Matthew Ling (Clarence)

The Match Review Panel determined that the strike was intentional, with low impact to the body. Player Bellchambers has been offered a base sanction of one match, reduced to a reprimand with and early guilty plea.

4.      Tigers & North Hobart players were referred for engaging in a melee

The Match Review Panel determined Tyler Carter (Tigers) was the instigator of the melee. This attracts a low-level reprimand. Player Carter has received a low-level reprimand in the past 12 months which increases his base sanction. Player Carter has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Carter has accepted a one-match suspension. 

 

Mercury Cup

1.      James Cummins (Tigers) was reported for striking William Collins (North Hobart)

The Match Review Panel determined that the strike was intentional, with medium impact to the head. Player Cummins has been offered a base sanction of three matches, reduced to two matches with an early guilty plea.

Player Cummins has accepted a two-match suspension. 

 

Wrest Point TSLW

1.      Courtney Webb (Launceston) was referred for a dangerous tackle on Rachel Long (Clarence)

The Match Review Panel determined that the dangerous tackle was careless, with medium impact to the head. Player Webb has been offered a base sanction of two matches, reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.

Player Webb has accepted a one-match suspension.
