The fixture for the 2018 Wrest Point Tasmanian State League Women’s season has been released.
Last year saw a highly competitive inaugural Wrest Point TSLW season, with Launceston running out 21-point winners over Glenorchy in the Grand Final to claim the premiership.
The new season will launch with a replay of this encounter at Windsor Park on Sunday April 22, with the Tigers also playing host to Clarence on the same day.
Launceston will be looking to recapture the form that saw them claim the premiership last season while the other four clubs in Burnie, Clarence, Glenorchy and the Tigers push to try and chase them down.
TSL General Manager Carl Saunder said the new Wrest Point TSLW season offers plenty of excitement for players and fans alike.
“Last year was such a successful inaugural season for the Wrest Point TSLW and we can’t wait for the competition to go from strength to strength in 2018.
“The Wrest Point TSLW offers a fantastic pathway for young Tasmanian footballers to pursue their goals of playing football at the highest level possible.
“It is a really exciting time for women’s football and particularly so right here in Tasmania,” Saunder said.
