Southern Cross TV announced as new Naming Rights Sponsor
Southern Cross Television has today been confirmed as the new naming rights partner of the Tasmanian State League. Tasmania’s premier whole of State football competition will now be presented as the Southern Cross State League.
General Manager of the TSL, Shaun Young said, ‘this new naming rights partnership with Southern Cross is the first of its kind for Australian Football in Tasmania with the primary aspect of the partnership being the promotion of the TSL as Tasmania’s premier football competition and the players and coaches that have driven the success of the TSL over the past six years’.
Southern Cross Austereo Regional General Manager Craig Davies said, ‘We are very excited about this new partnership we have forged with AFL Tasmania in taking on the naming rights of the State League, Tasmania’s premier AFL competition. Southern Cross Television is the home of AFL football at the elite national level and partnering with AFL Tasmania to promote the State League is a natural extension of this connection. We look forward to the opportunity to work closely with AFL Tasmania to build support for AFL football at all levels and help to ensure it remains an integral part of the lives of Tasmanians.’
One of the first initiatives will be to promote the prestigious TSL Player of the Year in a regular segment during the Southern Cross sports report in the news bulletin.
